It's such a fine balance to nurture an actor's process with play and trust, especially in the development of a new script and then to find the courage to reflect back to that artist when they lose their way, when they bog down in self indulgence and stop serving the forward momentum of the story. Heather is never afraid to push, to demand authenticity in every moment and to expect 150% from her team.

If scripts could be plucked from trees we would have orchards of them. The truth is, it takes a great deal of time and commitment to shape a play, to nurture it from draft to draft to draft. It's been a pleasure working with Heather as she skillfully - and tirelessly - wove a chorus of voices into a vivid glimpse of a past made present thanks to the enduring power of theatre.

Heather Dick is a deeply committed actor and a most diligent director. It would be hard to find someone who works as hard and achieves as much in the crafting of stage performances. I could not recommend anyone more highly.

It was my great pleasure, in 2014, to work with Heather in Norm Foster's two-person romantic comedy Old Love. It was, in fact, one of the happiest shows of my forty-five-year career. What I recall most vividly is the way we used theatre-games and improvisation to evolve our characters. These techniques were Heather's idea, and they were fun -- but more than that, they worked. Rarely have I felt so free as an actor, so joyous, so immersed in my role. And....the chemistry between us was terrific.

Working with Heather on a 2-hander play was a wonderful experience. She brings such commitment to the work and a lazer-like focus to moment to moment exploration and choices. Heather's passionate, fully grounded presence on stage was an inspiration for me to play off of and I would do it again in a heartbeat.

As an actress, being directed by Heather was like a breath of fresh air! Her attention to detail within the production and finding the deeper meaning of the story and characters was astounding! I look forward to the next time we work together!

Heather's guidance helped me put a real, live, human being up on stage instead of a 'character'. Her focus on what wasn't on the page through improvisation, as well as what was, ensured that I left no stone unturned in my search for who Mark was.

Heather was fantastic to work with. She really helped me build characters from the ground up by making me comfortable with my voice and physicality. As well as finding ways to experiment with characters, she has an eye for what can be explored and developed within an actor.
